2. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by an external hosting provider. When pages are accessed, technically necessary data is processed automatically: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system, and the previously visited page. This data is used to deliver the website and keep it secure, for example to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in secure and stable operation. Log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
Our hosting provider is Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider. Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses apply (Art. 45 and Art. 46 GDPR).
3. Cookies and consent
On your first visit, a banner asks which cookies and similar technologies we may use. The only technically necessary step is storing your choice in your browser's local storage; the legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR. We use all other technologies only with your consent (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
Statistics: With your consent, we may use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to analyse the use of our website in aggregated form, for example which pages are viewed and where visitors come from. Cookies are set and pseudonymous usage data is processed; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. A transfer to the USA is possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Marketing: With your consent, we may use Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ireland Limited) and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland). This lets us measure whether an ad led to an enquiry and show advertising in a more targeted way. Cookies are set and data is transferred to Google or Meta, possibly also to the USA; both providers are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. An agreement under Art. 26 GDPR is in place for joint processing with Meta.
Without your consent, none of these services is loaded. Fonts are loaded from our own server; there is no connection to Google Fonts.
4. Contact form
When you use our contact form, we process your details (name, email address, optionally company, phone number, budget, requested services and message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry is aimed at a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in answering enquiries.
We use the Formspree service (Formspree, Inc., USA) to send the form. Your form data is transferred to Formspree and forwarded to us by email. A data processing agreement has been concluded with Formspree; the transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply; if a contract is concluded, the retention periods under commercial and tax law apply.
5. Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp
When you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle your request on the same legal bases as for the contact form.
Our website contains links to WhatsApp. Only when you click such a link is WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland) opened and data transferred to WhatsApp. WhatsApp's privacy policy applies to the use of WhatsApp. If you prefer not to contact us via WhatsApp, please use phone, email or the contact form.
6. Links to Google Maps
We do not embed any Google maps on our website. The buttons “Get directions” and “Open in Google Maps” are simple links. Only after you click them does Google Maps open (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), and Google's privacy policy applies.
7. Links to other websites
On our projects page we link to our clients' websites. When you click on them you leave our website; the operators of the linked pages are responsible for them.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw any consent given with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Right to object: Insofar as we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.
9. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons this website uses an encrypted connection. You can recognise it by the lock symbol and “https://” in your browser's address bar.
10. Obligation to provide data
Providing your data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without your name and email address we cannot answer an enquiry sent via the form.
